1924 Australian built touring window

I have a 24 touring split front window. The glass sits into an aluminium channel that sits in the frame.

can you purchase this material? If not what material do you use to fit the window into the frame?

I used a rubber U section suitable for 1/4 inch glass - available from Spectrum Rubber and possibly Clarke Rubber who sell Spectrum products.  This is NOT the glass setting uncured rubber which they also sell in flat strips.  The U section has a bead at the top of the U which overhangs the frame in the same way as the original brass section does.  To my knowledge the cork lined plated brass used originally is no longer available.

Spectrum have some other rubbers i will need on their website.

Do you have any other Australian supplier information? I am completing a full rebuild over the next few years.

The dollars down and compounded by the ridiculously expensive shipping costs, something you can buy in the US for $25 can cost you $100 by the time it gets here. Always compare and challenge E bay sellers shipping costs.....they can differ enormously !!!
