will the new muscle car classes be in place for the Annual Grand National Meet in July?<P>if so, where might i get a class sheet or further information about the classing requirements?<P>thanks,<BR>mark

Get your self a copy of the "Official Judging Manual 2000" see page 37, class 36a-e for starters. See the AACA address on the site, it is only a few $. For info send an email to ronbarn, he knows almost everything on judging. And, NO I am not the president of the ronbarn fan club. SalG

Why is it that just when you think all the kinks have been worked out with a new program, somebody asks a question that hasn't been discussed? The answer to the question about the new high performance classes at the AGNM is a little complex so read this carefully.<P>First, let's get the proper terminology. The new classes (36a through 36e) are "Factory High Performance vehicles", not Muscle Cars. <P>The requirement to have won an AACA Senior Award in a year prior to the AGNM remains in effect. Thus, cars showing in these new classes for the first time this year will not be eligible for this years AGNM.<P>Cars that have won a Senior Award in a previous year in one of the production classes, and are now eligible to compete in the newly defined classes, will be eligible to compete in the new classes in this years AGNM.<P>This transfer of some cars from the production classes to the high performance classes will, hopefully, proceed in a smooth fashion. The chief judges and registration chairpersons are being informed about the transfers, but in the transition, there may be problems. If you are an owner of one of these cars, please be patient and understanding if your car gets into a production class. Moving the car to the proper class can be worked out at the meet.
