Guest LWD1949
I recently acquired a 1941 Buick Super model 51, which I am now happily restoring. The story that went with it is that it was a staff car assigned to a two-star general during WWII. The prior owner had no documentation of this history, as it was the story he was told when he acquired it from a prior owner about 15 years ago. The car is painted as an army staff car, but I imagine this was somebody's prior restoration effort.Anyway . . . I wonder if there is any way to trace cars that were military vehicles during the war. Is there a database somewhere of military vehicles dating from the WWII era? How, in general, would I go about documenting the car's prior history? Any tips/advice?Thanks.Larry DeWittTucson, AZ
