AzBob
Would like to know what other owners of 1926 Buicks have done regarding the original rectangular oil filter. It appears to be a sealed unit with no option to replace the filter element. Bob
Bob Atkinson
As you may or may not know, the Purolater rectangular oil filter was only used in 1926. 1926 was the first year for Buick oil filters and in 1927 they changed to a round AC filter. I have mine bypassed and just change the oil more often.
AzBob
Bypassing the filter and changing the oil a little more often looks like the least expensive option as well as leaving the original filter and lines intact for period look. Thanks Bob! By the way, my compliments on the excellent job you did on restoring and maintaining your Model 47.Bob
