I was thinking of doing it being i have the carpet out. Does it really help that much? Is it costly?
</tbody>
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
miker98038 Posted May 5, 2014 Share Posted May 5, 2014 I'm assuming this is not a restoration for show purposes. I did the floor of my 55, from the firewall pad to the trunk divider. I used an industrial rubber product, as I have a friend in that business. Heavy rubber with a foil top, rated to 500 degrees. The biggest improvement was the heat thru the floor over the muffler and exhaust system. Summit, Jegs, and all the usual hot rod shops will list dynamat, and well as their in house substitute. The two professional builders I know always use dynamat, but I suspect they buy at a considerable discount. I'd try the house brand. Some folks use a roofing product from Home Depot, but I don't know what it is. I'm sure a search would turn it up. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
