Rockne33
Ok,I guess I have a 31 Studebaker Pierce Arrow truck. I have been told only 3 made. So much for parts. :-(. But just in case. I need a radiator cap, emblem, badge.

That was simply the corporate name of the division that made commercial vehicles at the time Studebaker and pierce were merged. There were a lot more than three made. What is the source of the erroneous information?

It was produced from August 1930 thru Sept 1931 with 548 units assembled during that period (serial number range 3375001 to 3375548). Most all of the chassis parts will interchange with that model. It was available as a panel delivery (see image #1 below), screen side or canopy top with or without screen sides (see image #1 below). Of course it could also be purchased as a chassis (with front sheet metal) and have a custom body installled. The hood sides had the louvers grouped in 7 sets of three and the radiator shell was chrome plated (unlike the other S series trucks of that series). The cloisonne name badge measures 2 3/8 X 3/4" (see image #2-3 below). The only S-1 that I am aware belonged to the late Carroll Studebaker of Brookville Ohio, (he had purchased it from the Bill Harrah collection). It was serial 3375365, engine GL3955 Body S-1 1 70. Last I knew (c 1997) it belonged to Mike Volz in New Carlisle, Ohio.
