Purge system

On a 89 is the purge system have any electrical connections.

I see a connection but no wires for it? Kind of confused.

Yes, there is a electric solenoid on the evaporation canister controlled by the ECM. I am unclear if you have found the wiring pigtail and looking for where it connects, or visa versa. The solenoid is on the top of the evap canister.

I have not found the connection to the canister and you could say everthing is out of the way as it is. I only have the wiring harness and canister left I that area.

Wish you'd posted this yesterday. I just had the canister out of my '90 and was checking the purge solenoid (checked out OK) and could have taken a pic.

I'm including a pic of the top of the canister from my '88. There are two port connections and one electrical connection. The electrical connector (not shown) is made of red colored plastic. Similar in color to the red box sitting behind the canister in the provided picture. Kind of hard to miss when looking for it due to it's color.

I broke down and pulled the stuff out of the way to take a pic of the canister purge solenoid. (should've done it yesterday)

Thank you I found the connectors they are on the ecm/engine harness. Figured they would be on the other harness.
