dictator27 Posted August 28, 2013 Share Posted August 28, 2013 There are no torque specs for cars of that age. Torque wrenches didn't appear until the middle 1930s. These are low compression, slow turning engines. I would think that 35 to 40 pounds would be adequate, but it might be advisable to find a bolt size/tensile strength chart and see what the maximum torque is for the size and grade of the head bolts, keeping in mind that they are old bolts.Terry Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
