Could someone please educate me as to the name of the missing assembly (see attached pics) at the top of the engine. Thanks in advance, GB

Missing on the left car is the oil bath air cleaner. Air flowing through it on the way to the carburetor goes over an oil reservoir and through wire mesh and traps dust and dirt so clean air enters the engine. I have never been too positive that they were very efficient, but after when cleaning out the reservoir there is always a good deposit of dirt caked in the bottom of the oil.

Many find a paper filter and put that in the old unit. Of course, it may take some tweeking to make sure all of the ait is directed through the filter. No big deal to do that.
