Peking to Paris in a 1929 Buick

Earlier today, Jock & Bill Burridge of New Zealand start their more than 12,000 kms (7,600 miles), 33 day journey, from Peking to Paris, in Benson, a 1929 Buick 29-25X touring car, registration number 12.

The Peking to Paris rally is the longest and toughest challenge anyone can drive in a vintage or classic car. They'll hit: Peking – Great Wall of China – Inner Mongolia – Gobi Desert – Outer Mongolia – Ulaan Baatar – Telmen Lake – Russia – Novosibirsk – Omsk –Tyumen – Samara – Ukraine – Kiev – Lviv – Slovakia – Kosice – Bratislava – Austria – Schladming – Switzerland – Gstaad – France – Troyes –Paris.

This is the second time Benson has been entered in this grueling rally. In 2010, Tim & Julie Wilkinson completed the rally which was widely reported in the Newsletter.
