Guest casino949
My 1940 Phaeton is in desperate need of a front seat. I have seen a front seat for sale from a 1939 Buick (model unknown). Is the basic construction of the front seat on '39 & '40 Buicks close enough that I can adapt the '39 seat to fit well in my '40? As the "39 seat is 900 miles away any advise on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
1939_Buick
Some front seats from 2 door 1939 & 1940 coupes & convertibles have 2 piece back, so be carefulTry: http://forums.aaca.org/f165/dave-tachney-341710.html(and Danny I do not get commission)
Guest Grant Magrath
Like Allen says, coupes and two doors have a split back. 38's and 39's are different, but 40's could be the same frame.
Guest casino949
My Phaeton is a '40 Century (8-61c) 4-door with the solid seat back and the '39 seat also appears to be a solid-backed seat from a 4-door model. If the wood frame and the back construction is the same on the '39 and '40 buicks I may be able to use the '39 seat frame to reconstruct the seat on my '40.
