body mount question

1927 model 27 4dr.what type of material and size do i use for mounting body back on to the frame? anyone in central IL have a finished car or project or project pictures.thanks jerry

if you cant find a universal body mount thick tractor mud flaps are good alternatives just cut to size

Heavy black roofing paper also works well.

You can use several layers where there may be gaps where the body contacts the frame.

I recently experienced the same need. I located a company the supplied "belts" for all types of machinery. They had the material in rolls and made up belts to any specification. I got several feet of a "corded" belt material about 1/8 inch thick and 1 1/2 inch wide, cut it to length, and punched a 1/2 inch hole in the center. Its quite "solid" yet pliable. In some places I doubled up as I made adjustments. It's not affected by water or oil and should retain its shape indefinitly. Quite satisfied.
