Water Pump help

please look at picture-----body looks like 36 plymouth but the top where the bypass is, is differant---any one know what this is---please,,,please----Please------contact me at bobnroman@yahoo.com

There should be a fitting with a 1 inch hose directed back to the front of the thermostat housing for the bypass. I was working on a 1938 dodge pickup with a similar water pump. I don't know if you can see much detail in this picture, but it might give you some idea what the fitting looks like. I had the thermostat housing removed for repair when this picture was taken.
