Guest Ricko064
Hello,On the passenger side of my 64, there is a rubber hose coming out of a hole in the cowl. It goes nowhere and I was curious as to what this is/was for? This comes out of the cowl, not out of the AC box. Thanks!
Jim Cannon
It might feed the windshield washer nozzles. I'd have to see a photo of it to make sure.
Guest Ricko064
Ah, it is pretty far down the firewall, and larger diameter than a WW washer line. Looks like the size of a fuel line, but is coming out of the cowl. I hope/assume that the original route for the fuel line/vapor return line did not go through that section of the cowl? Jim Cannon
OK, then I would say that it is from the A/C. The evaporator (the thing that gets cold and produces condensation) is inside the car, in a box under the glove compartment. The condensation from that box goes out through 2 hoses, through the firewall. You might not be able to see the other hose unless you are under the car.No fuel lines run through the passenger compartment. That has been illegal on cars since 1931.
