electricalengineer1958
Hello everyone,I am wondering if any knows what was the "production period" (calendar months), that Stutz Motor Car had produced its 1929 car model, before stopping and starting the production of its "New" 1930 car models ??Thanks Rick
JohnBoyle
Generally speaking...pre-1932, model years were based on calendar years. As I understand it, the fall new model inroduction wasn't started until 1933 when FDR asked for it hoping it would stimulate new cars sales and thus the economy.Since the depression didn't start until late 1929, I'd imagine thay had a pretty decent year up to that point...in other words, no reason to suspend production because of the economy. The production figures in The Splendid Stutz seem to bear this out, some models were down from 1928, but '29 was the last year of healthy Stutz sales. X-Frame
First know that Stutz and Blackhawk were listed as separate models in the 1934 NADA book I have - Blackhawk is Model L. Both were the same company. That said they do show calendar year as introduction meaning January 1st.
