Guest
i was so happy when i got my emblems and excited to put them on, but i was informed that they need a gasket to mount them correctly, is this true!
i have never got a good look at a set on a car but my fenders have original blue paint where the emblems were and there doesnt seem to be much room to fit a gasket in there.
if i do need some, where can i get some.
thanks
Guest
You could probably cut your own gaskets. I bet its just to keep the emblems from scratching the paint and causing rust.
Guest
My Stage 1 has no gaskets, and never has.
rocketraider
I've never known GM to use a gasket behind a script. They used them behind side marker lights, or door and trunk handles and locks.
Guest
My 71 Stage 1 doesn't have gaskets behind any of the metal emblems and never did. Whoever told you this is mistaken. GM never (to the best of my knowledge) put gaskets between metal emblems & the body of their cars.
