Guest
Does anyone know of an adapter to use a BOP or Chevy trans and flex plate behind a nailhead? Where there any TH400 trans built for the nailhead? Thank you for any help. JIM
Guest oldtimer
the nailhead bellhousing is round ,so the only trans that will fit is the one from a nailhead. i "heard" that pheonix trans 817-599-7680 might know of an adaptor or rods-n-racing 618-257-0567 (charlie). let us all know what the outcome is. The Old Guy
If you have a 364 or 401 ,there is a 400 trans that will fit , but you will have to machine the back of the crank to clear the convertor. The 64 -66 Electras, wildcats and rivs used a 400 with a round bell housing
Guest
Remember, the 1964-66 401/425 did use a ST400 (Buicks TH400) and it bolts up with no modification to 64-66 401/425 of course.
DugsSin
Can you keep the torque tube drive line with the 364 to ST400 setup? The 65-66 switch pitch would be the better choice, right? Are these big car trans referred to as the long tails? Thanks as always, Doug <BR> If the answer to all the above is yes,I'm in the market for a 65-66 long tail.
