oldstyle
Hello,I finally have the car pretty much stripped to metal so far. Im trying to figure out what needs to be sent to the chrome shop. My remote drivers side mirror is in rough shape. Any way to disconnect the cables running to the mirror? Im guessing that I have to break the glass to get to it but just want to make sure. I've looked for a new one but so far no luck. Here's a pic from a couple of weeks ago. I wish the drivers side was in as good shape as the passanger side! Guest Stevie_G
Nah, they come apart. I'll have to take a look at my spare, but I know I took Dad's apart to clean it.
1965rivgs
Hi Raul, New NOS mirrors appear frequently on auction sites like Ebay because Buick used the same basic mirror for many models for years. Send me a PM for a source. Just an FYI, they usually sell in the $200-$300 range. Tom Mooney
oldstyle
Thanks Tom. I figured that there had to be a way Riv owners were getting them. I'll keep an eye out. PM sent.
Guest Stevie_G
Take the screw out from the center, then the ring rolls out of the head and there is a screw in the base that it registers against. It's pretty simple once you get the screw out of the center.
