BUICK DISTRIBUTORS ,WHAT FITS??

I HAVE A BUICK HEI THAT I AM NOT SURE WHICH ENGINE THAT IT CAME FROM. Are there differences between big & small block? I know the 350 is kinda by itself on some things. how about nailheads do THEY interchange ? thanx, DAVE

HEI DISTRIBUTORS ARE THE SAME,ONLY THE DRIVE GEAR IS DIFFERENT THEY WILL FIT 300/340(A LITTLE INTAKE MANIFOLD CLEARANCING NEEDED) 350 400/430/455,..WILL NOT EXCHANGE WITH NAILHEAD

Make that, all are the same, but big block 400,430,455 have a different gear. And none will fit a nailhead. I know it is not a computer job ,those are junk for performance use.I appreciate the help and had I known this forum was here first I would have posted it for sale .that counting of the teeth is a big help .it is a 14 tooth 350 job.it is currently listed on ebay as number 538850386. ends tomorrow . if you know anyone who needs a dated 1969 alternator I have one on there also #1100774 55amp ebay #538625813. if they do not sell off of there I will post here .thanx again, DAVE

There was a guy on this BB several months ago that was adapting HEIs to fit nailheads. He may have even posted a link to some photos. Can't remember his name, though.<BR>
