Guest
I HAVE A BUICK HEI THAT I AM NOT SURE WHICH ENGINE THAT IT CAME FROM. Are there differences between big & small block? I know the 350 is kinda by itself on some things. how about nailheads do THEY interchange ? thanx, DAVE

Guest
Make that, all are the same, but big block 400,430,455 have a different gear. And none will fit a nailhead. I know you said the same thing dbman, I just wanted to be sure he got the idea.
------------------
buickfam@aol.com
Life long Buick Fan.
1965 Skylark H/T
1965 Gran Sport Convertible
1948 Chevy Pickup with 401 Buick.
"Fan of anything that moves human beings"
The Old Guy
Count the teeth on the gear. If it has 14 teeth it is a 350 and if it has 13 ,it is a 455. I use the 350 HEI in my 455 by changing the gear. Any gear will fit ,even from a point style distributor. The 350 HEI has a better curve than the 455 as far as performance is concerned. Guest
There were no Buick V8s that were computer controled, that I know of. The Buick was long gone by 1980 when GM went Computer.
------------------
buickfam@aol.com
Life long Buick Fan.
1965 Skylark H/T
1965 Gran Sport Convertible
1948 Chevy Pickup with 401 Buick.
"Fan of anything that moves human beings"

Guest
There was a guy on this BB several months ago that was adapting HEIs to fit nailheads. He may have even posted a link to some photos. Can't remember his name, though.
