Guest cody_dhl
So I just bought a 41 pickup and i had a few questions. The serial number on the frame has a star after it and the guy i'm buying it from did know if that meant anything, and i was wondering if it does. Also he was saying i should convert it from a 6 volt system to a 12 volt system like modern vehicles and i was wonder how hard that is to do or if it's worth it to do it. I'll post pictures of it this weekend or the next (i still need to switch the title over and pick it up) and i'm pretty sure I'll be asking a lot of questions because this is the first vehicle i will have every restored. JMAV8FORD
Ford serial numbers had a star in front and a star at the end so that additional numbers could not be added. A well restored 6 volt system will start the truck every time. There is no need to go to 12 volts. The Fordbarn site and the Early Ford V8 Club of America site have parts and information for your truck. Congratulations, and enjoy your truck!
