Guest chris bull
Does a 1926 Buick model 26-20 standard 6 engine normally have valve lifter springs (Inner springs)? My engine has valve springs in the head (Outer springs) but none in the bloock (Inner Springs). Illustrations in both the Reference Book and the Shop Manual show both Inner and Outer Springs in the Standard 6. However text in the Shop Manual mentions lifter springs for the Buick Master but not for the Standard. Should I buy and install Inner springs where there were non or should I leave the engine without (the original state)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Chris Bull

Guest chris bull
Leif - Tremendous help. Thanks. Just to make sure I understand: the 1926 should only have the upper valve spring. The 1927s would have both. Right? Any idea why they went to 2 sets? What use is the lower (inner) spring? Thanks againChris
