Guest paulmac1968
The passenger side door on my '55 has begun to stick. Whether inside or outside the car. To open the door, if I'm outside, is push in the button, give the door a little bit of hip and then it will open up.Any ideas how to adjust?Thx.Paul Mac
Guest billybird
There is some adjustment that can be made to the striker. However, if the problem developed over time, I would check the hinges to see if they need a rebuild.
Guest paulmac1968
It's funny.. If the car is sitting in my driveway. I can open and shut just fine all day long. Drive for a few miles hit a few bumps and it'll stick.---I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?qmurco
1957Birdman
Procedures for adjusting the doors are available in the shop manual. Like BillyBird says, it is probably something with the striker plate or it could be the hinges. Does the door hang down at all when you open it? Guest paulmac1968
No. Seem to be as solid as a rock. This happened after I adjusted the door to close the gap.---I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?nnvk3l
1957Birdman
If the hinges are solid then most likely it is something to do with the striker plate. Make sure the angle of the plate is the same as on the other side, since that seems to work fine.Good Luck!
