Its not orignal due to numbers not matching the vin. I dont even think its from a Riviera. Maybe you guys can help me out. Engine serial on top of block is 8I4018578, production code 4I319731. RivNut Posted March 11, 2012 Share Posted March 11, 2012 If the second digit is an I, then it's from a '62. That would make sense. Both those engines shared the same transmisson and starter motors, mounts, etc. I think the 8 might indicate that it came from an Electra.
