This is kind of unrelated but It's a neat story anyhow. A friend of mine nearly died of alcohol poisoning at Goering's estate in Berchtesgaden. He also put two slugs into the bullet proof windshield of Hitler's Mercedes. There is a famous photo of Major Dick Winters standing on the hood of the same car.
