Guest marlin65
I'm searching for an old style antenna that was used on police cars, usually attached to the rear bumper and secured on the drip rail. Do they have a certain name or better yet anyone have a good one?
msmazcol
In the days of CB's the common name was a "whip". This due to the tendency of them to whip back and forth with the vehicle movement. The lengths were different depending on what frequency it was being used on. May have one off my Dad's old company car. He was a regional safety man for a major freight carrier in Chicago. I'll check next time at his shop in the next week or so.
john2dameron
Go thru a low underpass and it would push the antenna down and when it cleared the underpass back up it would come and give the top of the car a pretty good whack; sometimes cracking the paint.
