Guest Shaffer
Looks like a nice car. Neat about the photo of the car when it was new. Too bad about the hail damage. I know all about it though, as all three of my cars suffered the same damage from a very severe thunderstorm with very large hail we had here on May 1st. Cars down the road had busted windows, as well as my grandmothers car getting crashed windows. Luckily my grandfathers 55 Buick was in the garage. That must have been very large hail to damage a car that old. My uncle had the windshields busted in all of his trucks - with huge dents on the tops and hoods. However, his 1957 Pontiac Star Chief setting beside of them was not damaged at all. Also, a 1973 Chevrolet Impala out the road had no damage, aside from a busted windshield, looked to have very minimal, if no damage. Some areas in town had much larger hail, as a local car lot has a 1967 Buick LeSabre, with 37,000 actual miles and it suffered moderate damage, while other cars on the same lot had major damage. I am not 100% sure, but I think moderate hail damage lowers a cars value by 30-50%. They gave my aunt $4,000 for the minor damage to her 2001 Nissan and $1,200 for my dads 88 truck. Some companies was buying the cars from the customers for full-retail and selling them back for as little as $200. <P>Good luck on selling the car.
