rear pan seal material 24 4cyl Buick?

While replacing the line to the oil psi guage I had to drop the pan on my 24, 4 cyl Buick and found that the felt I used as a rear seal ( made from shoe inersole ) had disintingrated and was on the oil screen and parts of the flywheel. I was lucky no real damage was done but are their any suggestions on something else to use, or a source? When I replace the pan I like to use annerobic(forgive the spelling) gasket maker so I don't have to get a gasket set..

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking about using cork but was worried about it getting destroyed by the rotation of the crank. But, if it works for you it will work fore.
