Jim Yergin Posted July 19, 2011 Share Posted July 19, 2011 Sounds like you need to adjust the gear selector rod. It is the one with a spring on it with a nut and lock nut on the end. I believe you tighten the nut to remove all play and then back it of half a turn. The gear selector rod is what places the gear shift rod into the 1st/reverse shifter. Otherwise the shifter defaults to the 2nd/3rd position.Jim Yergin Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
