Rockingchairmotors
I was told this is a 232cid V-8 out of a 1953 Studebaker. It has stamped on it VI 3599 I. Not sure if they are I's or one's. It is fairly complete but does not turn over. Located near Bath PA. Taking offers. Listed on Ebay with a $50.00 starting price. Hate to junk it. 610-972-9694. www.rockingchairmotors.com. starlightcoupe
For reasons unknown, Studebaker always used the Roman numeral I to indicate the numeral 1. So, your engine number is V135991. Chassis catalogs indicate it was probably in a 1952 3H Commander; an insignificant difference; same engine.I know of another spare '51 232 within a half mile of me and have my own spare '53 232. I'm only hanging on to mine because it is a number matching my '53 Coupe, in case some future owner is concerned about such things.Good luck with your auction.
