Guest jredshoes
I was wondering if any 1953 Buick owners could tell me how their vin plate is attached to the driver's side door jamb (spot weld, rivet, screws?)? I have a car purcahsed from the original owner and the State of Kansas inspector tells me he thinks it's been removed and re-attached although the people I bought it from deny it. Thanks!
John Jensen
Greg Sealock
Although mine is currently in storage for the winter, I am 99% sure it is attached with a rivet at each end.

Guest
Hi, on my 53 Buick Special the vin plate is attached with two rivets at each end. My 53 is all original. Hank
1953 Buick Special 41D
Guest jredshoes
Thanks for you responses. Since I've posted this I have had a chance to look at a '52 Roadmaster and a '53 Super, both of which were original and attached by philips head screws (like my 1953 Special). Is it possible that different plants used different methods of attachment? (in regards to those of you with rivets)? Thanks!
