Need help ID'ing hydraulic shock absorbers

A friend has a set of mystery hydraulic shock absorbers he would like to identify make and application for. See attached photos of the parts. They are a set of four with two arms that face forward and two arms that face rearward.

These are the casting part numbers:

Body; 5313843-R2

Arm A; 5342645

Arm B; 5342646

End Cap 1754M 6-C-48

It was thought these were for an early 30's Studebaker but that does not seem to be correct.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thank you West for the tip on the shock application, I'll pass it along to the owner and maybe these can find their way to someone who can use them.
