Guest dsnyder
I have a 51 Dodge Coronet with out a engine. Just got a 50 Desoto Engine and transmission (Gyromatic). The Desot0 block is 2 inches longer. Will it fit? Or, what can be done to make it fit or should I skip it? I have a 50 Dodge engine that needs to be rebuilt, the Desoto is ready to go. Guest austinsailor
Move the radiator forward 2", weld tabs on the front motor mounts to make up the difference and you're ready to go. If you have the Dodge transmission and bell housing it will bolt up.
Guest dsnyder
is the dodge bell houseing and transmission different?
Rusty_OToole
Some frames even have extra bolt holes so you can move the motor mounts. This is a good swap, the bigger engine is, well, bigger and can be taken out to 265 cu in with stock parts, 283 cu in or possibly bigger if you bore the cylinders.
