Tail Pipe part number

Hi folks,

Today while I was at the upholstery shop that did my 41, I was yacking with Jan Roll and looking at a 46 LC Coupe he was finishing with an all new interior.

So I am looking at a few things on this car and I spot a number on top of the tail pipe, A 16H 5255. Now I could have missed seeing this part number on other Lincolns I have looked at over the years but I dont remember seeing a part number on top of the tail pipe like this.

Does anyone happen to know if this is in fact the way they numbered that pipe?

Here is a photo of the pipe and number, not very good but you get the idea.

Wow thats something else! looks nifty, but those "5s" seem too tricked out for my liking. My sense is that someone got a little obsessed and did their own stamping. Did you take the car back down Tom?

Hi Jim,

Jan and I traded some ideas about the door fit and I should know tomorrow if the way I fixed it before will work. I just have to remove that new door panel. Jan also offered to come up and work on the door panel if necessary to avoid it rubbing against the rear of the door opening. Teething problems I guess.
