Grandpa
Do any forum members have a picture of an original convertible top tie-down strap from a 1941 Buick? More than likely, the same strap was used on all GM convertibles of the period. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks,Grandpa
allcars
Grandpa...I've sent you an email containing a link to photos of a strap from my '40 66-C. Parts book confirms same as for '41.

Grandpa
All,I have had two responses to the convertible top tie down strap question. One person sent images of the strap from an original 1940 Buick Century convertible coupe and the other person send images from a mostly original 1941 Buick Super convertible coupe. The 1940 strap is leather and the 1941 strap is fabric. Both straps are the same size: about 24" long and ¾" wide. It seems unlikely that Buick would use a fabric belt, but the belt seems a bit odd for a "people belt". Note that the fabric belt uses two different fabrics (the front and back sides are not the same material).Grandpa
Grandpa
All,More on the convertible top tie-down strap: The belt is leather. The parts book lists one part number for the belt from about the mid-1930s to 1953. Some model Buicks use two belts, one on each side. Pictures of an original 1940 Buick belt can be found on:Picasa Web Albums - Terry - 40-41 Buick T...Grandpa
