Guest wrennch
Im still working on getting my '28 master six all fixed up and noticed that the car leans to one side and found that this strap is broken. Im guessing it has something to do with the suspension. Big question is where can i find a replacement? Thanks
50jetback
Rebound shock absorber - single action hence the strap and not a solid shock link.Bobs Automobilia http://www.bobsautomobilia.com/ sells the strap, you will find it under Hood Lace, Frame Web and Shock Snubber in his catalog.Replacing the strap won't fix the lean though, that will be a problem with the spring which may need re-setting. Guest wrennch
I just noticed that my rebound shock absorber on the back drivers side is stuck all the way down and i cany get it to go back up. Does that mean its ruined or is there some way to fix it?Thanks
unimogjohn
Wrennch, all of them are probably low on oil or have none in them. To fill take off the little filler bolt on top and refill to the top. I use hydraulic tractor transmission oil from Tractor Supply. On the one that is stuck it is out of oil and probably rusted. Spray in some PB Blaster, Kroil etc and let it sit overnight. Then with your hand start to move the arm up and down little bits at a time. Slowly it will or should break free. Take your time. Keep spraying it. They all do leak, some more than others. I check mine at the beginning of every driving season and top off if necessary.
