Steve Braverman
This has been dragged to Hershey for decades, and nobody has ever identified it. My grandfather acquired it many years ago. It used to be in a wooden crate, but the crate fell apart. This is probably an NOS part. Any thoughts?
Steve Braverman
142 views and not a single comment!? Wow, I guess it must be an obscure one.
Dave Mellor NJ
Bears a strong resemblance to a fender that tamborainc is trying to identify in this forum under "front fenders, any ideas?" The braces are different but the general shape is close. Edited May 4, 2010 by Dave Mellor NJ (see edit history)
Guest BobD735
Hi,When a fellow Chalmers friend of mine recently pointed out the "Mystery Fender", I agreed that it might be for a Chalmers. After further inspection, I realized that the part number E-5-1714 appears in one view. I checked my Chalmers Master Parts List, and on page 562 of the manual, discovered that it's a Left Front Fender for a Model 35-B, Chalmers 7-Passenger.That means that fender could be used on any Chalmers with a 122" w.b. chassis, from 1917 through 1921.By the way, the fender originally cost $15.60.Bob
Steve Braverman
Bob,Thank You!!!There is probably a Chalmers owner out there somewhere that would love to have this. This fender has been around my family for as long as I can remember, and nobody had any idea what it was for. Great work!
