bobj49f2
Here's the deal, I have a '37 Special, which I've been posting progress reports on the board. I have a complete suspension out of a recently restored '40 Coupe, front and rear, the parts are like new. As most of you know the '37's rear suspension has leaf springs, the '40 has coiled spring, I assume just like the '38s. I know I can make the '40's suspension work, all I need to do is fabricate a crossover piece and a spacer piece for the cross over bar.My question is, I read or heard some place that the coil springs give a better ride than the leaf springs, can I get some opinions? I would assume since Buick upgraded to coils in '38 the coil spring suspension must have been an upgrade.
Guest Grant Magrath
For what it's worth, I can go over speed bumps a lot faster in the 38 Buick Special than I ever could in my 1939 Chevy Master 85 with leafs all round!CheersGrant
