TWO 1900-1904 planetary transmissions. $1,500 each. see photos

Recommended Posts

Dear Friends, I have decided to put up for sale TWO extremely rare planetary transmissions, for 1900, 1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1904, 1905, 1906 cars, highwheeler and automobiles. They are $1,500 EACH,your choice. These were used on most early autos, such as Curved Dash Olds Oldsmobile, Ford, Cadillac, Packard, Reo, Rambler, Northern, Pierce, Peerless, Pierce Arrow, Waltham Orient, De Dion Bouton, Aster, etc. rather than sliding gear trans. These planetary transmissions are almost impossible to find any more, but are essential to the restoration of any early car. These 2 bolt directly onto the side of the flywheel, and the drive chain then runs downward from the planetary trans. to the drive sprocket in the center of the rear axle such as a Weston Mott, Timken, or American Ball Bearing axle, and came on one and two cylinder cars. You do NOT need a cone, dog or in and out clutch with these. Stored inside in Ohio since the 1930s. No names or ID marks on either. Inside condition unknown. Trans # one: 16 inches wide overall with the shaft. Bolts onto flywheel. Drum is 11 inches in diameter and drum is 5 1/4 inches wide. Trans #2 19 inches overall with shaft. Bolts onto flywheel. Drum is 10 1/2 inches in diameter. Drum is 4 1/2 inches wide. Weight of either is 60-75 lbs. I will UPS in the US or overseas for actual costs. Have more photos of each trans. You can request by email to me at gnalbright@gmail.com Again email me directly or call my cell after 10 AM to 10 PM EST with questions or requests for more photos. Dear Friends I have sold one of the 2 planetary transmissions. The one pictured that has the square output shaft, where the output shaft leaves the transmission,is the one STILL available. Price has been lowered to $1,200 firm, plus $100 for UPS costs in the lower 48 states. If you study the end of the output shaft on the one still avail, you will notice it is notched to accept a starting crank handle. This was common on many early cars, especially highwheelers made from 1907 to 1912. The rear of the trans bolts directly onto the flywheel. More photos avail by email.
