keiser31
I just found this Marvel carburetor in my stuff out in my shop. There are some numbers and letters on each side. On one side it has the number 10 with a line under it and the number 103 under the line. On the other side it has the number 65-26 and the letter "C" under that. It looks to be brass. The inside diameter of the "intake manifold to carb" hole is very close to 1 7/8". The air inlet hole is about the same diameter. It has patent dates from 1907 to 1921. Looks to be fairly complete. 1. Does anyone out there know what vehicle it is for? and 2. Does anyone need it for their restoration? Thank you in advance. unimogjohn
Looks just like my 1928 Buick standard. They came with either a brass or pot metal carb, I have the pot metal one on my car, but the brass one in my spares. With that said, it could be from an earlier Buick, years maybe 26 and 27. Hope this help.
keiser31
Thanks John. I don't even know how long I have had it or even where I got it. I am a gatherer so it makes total sense that it was out there. Now that I think of it, there are sure to be more out there.
unimogjohn
John, here it is on the car. The round thing above it is the heat riser/manifold. They are quite rare if you have one. The carb is worth from $60 to 80, usually on Ebay.
