Guest Kitskaboodle
I need to replace the two-pin connector that plugs into the solenoid on the power steering ram. I believe this solenoid's function is so that the car doesnt stall out when you turn the wheels hard at idle. (like when you' re trying to parallel park) Does anyone know the GM/AC-Delco p/n??Thanks, Kit / 90 Reatta / 85 & 86 Fiero GT's
dship
I'm referencing the 86-93 Reatta/Riviera parts manual. I see a part called "switch idl spd ps press (1988-90), part #10096157" for your 90 Reatta. I assume that's the part youre interested in (?). Guest Kitskaboodle
Unfortunately, the GM p/n you listed doesnt appear to be a valid p/n.Anyone else know what is the p/n for the power steering solenoid connector?I even contaced Pico....they dont make it. Yes, I know I can hit the yards but I wanted to see if I could get a new one first. Kit / 90 Reatta
Guest Telco
Go here and find the part you want. Likely you'll need to find the solenoid, not the connector. Then drill down to the part and you can find what all models used that same solenoid. Might be easier to find the wiring part you need if it was also used on a more widespread model. Guest Kitskaboodle
I'm sorry but I was not able to use that website to find the connector. The shematics were kind of grainy and there wasnt any reference tothe solenoid or connector from what I could find. Thanks for trying though! Anyone else have a p/n?I know someone out there in Reatta-Land had to replace this atone time or another. dship
Kit,I went onto the website (compnine) that Telco suggested (great website! thanks Telco) and did a search by part number....found the following:Switch, Idl Spd Press part #10096157 has changed to #10204102 has again changed to #10238816 (AC-Delco #212-565). Hope this is what you're looking for.
Guest Telco
NP. It takes some digging to find stuff there, but if you do find the part you need (they aren't all in there) then drill down, it shows a list of cars that used the same part. There's quite a few parts that are used by a LOT of different GM cars.
Guest Kitskaboodle
OK, I checked out the 10238816 p/n at GMParts4U.com and it's $27.00+But, I think that's the p/n for the solenoid switch itself.I need just the connector that plugs into it. What's the 212-565 number??Oh, and thanks for all the help guys! Kit
Guest Telco
If you take the PN for the switch, then call your supplier (like GM Parts Direct) or local dealer and tell them you need the wiring harness that plugs into the part, they might be able to find the harness plug you need. It is what you are looking for acording to the AC Delco book Edited December 17, 2009 by CHAS1 (see edit history)
Guest Kitskaboodle
Unfortunately that p/n is for the solenoid too. (i.e. 212-565)I checked with my local auto parts store and he said thatp/n is way over $40.00 so it must be the solenoid.Oh well....it was worth a try. Thanks for all the helpful hints. I'll be checking the yards this weekend. Kit
