Guest ImperialNorth
I am sure this is common knowledge for most, but me being a newby. I am still learning. Defective odometers seem to be a common issue with TCs. So is this an expensive repair and secondly will this be something that will happen again, or have we come up with more dependable replacement parts? Guest LouZ
Hi again, The little plastic gears are still available. it is an easy fix, not simple: but easy. Many of us feel the cause is the greese that was used. Inactivity, and age causes the lube to harden, and that breaks a gear. Modern lube may help. Bill Reichert
Here is the link for the repair procedure.TC ProjectsThere were player pianos that had electric roll motors in the sixties. I have run across a few where the gears were seized by petrified grease. I have chipped the grease off and soaked in gasoline. Unfortunately the odo gears have more power applied and break.
