ReattaTType
I just have a few questions about a 1996 Buick Riviera I am buying as a winter driver. The car needs a few things for safety inspection, just wondering how hard it is to replace the exhaust manifold gasket on the car and also how long of a serpentine belt does the car require when bypassing the AC compressor. Thanks.
Rivieraman
You cannot bypass the A/C Compressor with auto climate control the compress will not engage when not needed. the Riviera was not made without A/C My 98 get 27-31 MPG with 124,000 miles on it and the A/C system is inop
ReattaTType
Ok so I am looking at buying this 1996 Riviera as a winter car for $650. It has 379k kms on it with the motor and transmission being in beautiful shape. The supercharger is also brand new and the car has very little rust with newer brakes, new brake lines, newer tires and newer fuel lines. THere are of course a few issues with the car. The AC compressor makes a loud grinding noise at idle which is why I wanted to bypass the compressor as it sounds awful. Is there anyway of getting rid of this sound. Also under acceleration, you can hear the manifold making a noise, like a tick or so. Any idea what that would be if there is no gasket?
