Rons25A Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I took the carb apart for cleaning and found that the exhaust flap in the carb was broken and laying in there loose.I remember some time ago there was talk on this forum about puttin a freeze plug in to block off carb heat.I live in the warm (or mostly hot!) south and don't use the carb heat anyway.I can repair the flap if I need to.Any advise will be appreciated.Also Does anyone know what size freeze plug it takes? Fred Rawling Posted September 7, 2009 Share Posted September 7, 2009 I would just leave it out and if it runs good, I would not bother pluging the opening. On my 1928, when I rebuilt the engine, I took the flapper out of the exhaust manifold valve. My flapper on the carburetor was already missing. So far, so good.
