Which engine oil for 1966 Riviera?

Look at products like Mobil Delvac 1300. They're designed for truck engines that run under heavy loads and they have higher levels of ZDDP. Modern motor oils have less zinc because of the harm it causes to catalytic converters and the fact that most engines are now running roller cams or have overhead cams. We don't have to worry about that. I think that WalMart sells this stuff fairly reasonably.

Get on the internet and do some research on zinc AND phosphate (very important for wear) levels of your favorite oil and see for yourself which oil best fits your driving requirements.

When I was associated with Advance Auto, one of the customers was using Shell Rotella in his Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Liter HO engine. It only had 400,000 miles on it so far. Shell has since changed its formula for Rotella.
