Making my 66 a stick shift

The more I research the st400 transmission in my 66, the more I am thinking about changing it over to a stick shift. I can get ahold of a Borg Warner T10...my question is if anyone has ever seen or heard of any second generation Rivs that have been converted?

Andrew,

Over on the www.V8Buick.com site there are a number of guys who have converted Nailhead powered 65-66 Wildcats to 5 speeds. They love the cars and really seem to like what the overdrive manuals do for performance and economy. I think most of them went with the later tranmission to get away from complex clutch and shifter linkages, the modern 5 and 6 speeds use hydralic clutchs and internal linkages.

The difference between the Wildcat with a perimeter frame and the Riviera's X frame may prove a little more challenging on the Riviera, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker.

There are companies that make manual transmission bell housings, but I'm not sure who has a Nailhead flywheel available.
