Guest OLBUICKS Posted October 29, 2008 Share Posted October 29, 2008 I see all these messages about engine over hauls... Did you all have trouble getting the temp bulb out of the head. I worked two days trying to get one out.. I pulled the bolt out of the rocker shaft and tried every thing I could think of and still failed.. Any good tip, and can they be fixed? jeff Posted October 29, 2008 Share Posted October 29, 2008 I was really lucky on mine. If I recall, we turned the head on its side, and hit the bulb with some muratic acid. After a couple of days, we were able to ease it out. Of course, when I tried to duplicate this trick on my friend's Packard, I broke it.He was able to send it off and have it repaired.
