keiser31
Anyone out there know where to get new brushes for a Delco-Remy generator number 943-L? It is for a 1930 Dodge DD6 car. Thanks in advance. John
Guest DodgeKCL
The 943 series Delco generators were used on most Chrysler,Plymouth,Dodge and DeSoto cars of that era. They came from the Chevrolet cars of the same era and are known as the 'short Chevy'. There is a 'long Chevy' of about 9", I can't remember the series number. Yours measures about 6 1/2"? Even after getting a controlled field line they still used the same 3 brushes. The '33 Plymouth uses a 943 series gen.(no field line). They are still serviced at electrical shops in my area but in any case you can find an antique Chevy repro outfit and get brushes from them.
