Slow pulsing headlights

When I did mine I spent a lot of time filing the hole so it was a very tight fit, almost a press fit on the shaft. No play at all and I think a very strong fix.
Barney's slotted washer repair should let you do away with new parts.
The rubber bumper on the bell crank goes over hard to the stop position. Probably has an indentation on it from wear. The increase in current is detected and the power is shut off and your light is in the full upright position.
On my 89 there is a nylon nut that is expanded to a lock position by the insertion of the bolt with the bolt head being the stop position. Best to wind it all of the way in and after the first opening back it out until it makes firm contact. When I finished mine there was absolutely no giggle or vibration of any sort. Your headlights will likely have to be aligned after this.
J-B Weld likely ad additional strength to hold the shaft if it is badly worn.
Good luck, not difficult just takes some time. A 1/4 drive with a universal joint will speed things up.

For bronz gears and even stronger fix
Delrin rollers
all the toys new
26676.jpg
Good luck

Friday, 08/09 I will try to repair my headlights, they are both very slow in coming up. I am going to use Barney Eaton's instructions. Can anyone give me any success
stories from their experiences using this method. It would be appreciated, as this forum has helped me many times since I became a Reatta owner in May.
Also thanks to all of you out there with your help and suggestions.
Terry Peck
90 Red Reatta coupe

Gads I love this board. I too have a lazy headlight and I just finished writing Barney about it. Easily Distracted's post on this problem is so neat!! This board is like having your own personal Reatta Guru. I used to be fond of saying that the advent of computurized cars was killing off shade tree mechanics. This board and you guys have once again proved me wrong. grin.gif" border="0
