Peter,

All I wold do is add some new tires and tubes, and the fan hub. The tires on it now have been on there I know since before 1950 but they are still soft and pliable. We have put a little over 200 miles on it with no problems other than the fan hub wobbles. It has a new battery, plugwires, everything works on this car all the lights, generator starter etc. It starts with a short bump of the starter. doesn't smoke or drip anything. When they put it up they stored it the right way. When I picked it up in Jan. 2008 I replace the gasket on the vacume fuel pump, filed the points, added gas (it was drain when stored), installed new 6 volt battery, and added water startedwithin 4-5 seconds of hitting the starter button. Water was drain also. If I was to leave it original I wouldn't change or replace the interior it adds to much charactor to it.
