I have a 1939 buick special "opera" coupe

But can't seem to find any online specs for this car

Can some one tell me the curb weight of this vehicle?

The number of these coupes produced?

The best place to find info on these cars?

and finally

What color were the engines painted for this year?

thanks.

Welcome to the Forum!

An online photo of your car would help.

Ron kowalke's (edited) work: "The Complete Catalogue of Buick 1903-2000" (Krause Publications, 1999--I think there may be a newer edition now) does not list a series 40 "opera" coupe for 1939, but does list for that year and series: Model 46-- a 2 door, 2 passenger Business Coupe, 3387 lbs and 14,582 produced; Model 46C-- a 2 door, 4 passenger Conv. Coupe, 3517 lbs and 4569 produced; and Model 46S-- a 2 door, 4 passenger Sport Coupe, 3437 lbs and 10,043 produced.

The BCA (especially the Prewar Division) and AACA Discussion Forums continue to be great sources of information. Additionally, BCA has consultants available to members, and AACA has its very helpful Library.

Good luck!

The BCA Judging Manual ( see link to large PDF ) lists the engine as Gray. Bill Hirsch advertises engine paints...I believe they would have a reasonably correct colour.

Good luck...I'd love to see a photo or two. wink.gif And welcome aboard.
